Description

Olivella distils all that is compelling about Corsica; a completely secluded bergerie buried deep in the hillside, the pungent smell of the aromatic maquis, the chirping of cicadas and the splendid backdrop where land meets sea beyond. The thick stone walls might betray the 1854 farmstead origins but the house of today feels distinctly provençal with pale blue shutters and pretty vine clad walls. There is a
splendid freeform pool with whirlpool bath for basking and a current machine to swim against for the more actively inclined. Al fresco dining was surely invented on the flowered terrace in the cool shade of the olive trees; you can almost smell the coffee and croissants against the twinkling waters of the Valinco gulf. The historic hamlet of Olmeto is a few minutes away by quiet country road, and the spectacular coastline and string of sandy bays only ten minutes by car.
