Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
This covers you for damage sustained in an accident unless you deliberately cause the damage, are under the influence or drink or drugs, or use the vehicle in a prohibited way (e.g for hire). In addition if you commit a driving offence or drive negligently, or the local suppliers of the car decide you are at fault, you may not receive a replacement vehicle. Please note that CDW does not cover you for damage to the tyres, windscreen or undercarriage so please drive with care.
Super CDW/ Pack Protection Plus:
You will be offered the opportunity to take extra insurance called Super CDW/Pack Protection plus. This policy is charged at a daily rate and protects the excess on the car in the event of damage. By paying this amount the excess is either dramatically reduced or becomes zero. However, please note that it does not always cover you for damage to the tyres, windscreen or undercarriage so please drive with care.
Theft Waiver
This reduces your liability in the event of theft, damage caused due to theft or attempted theft of the vehicle to an excess amount where applicable. Negligence connected with the theft of the vehicle may lead to the car hire company requiring the cost of the vehicle.
Personal Accident Insurance
This optional insurance may be covered by your holiday insurance (please check your policy before you travel). If you require PAI it can be purchased locally on collection of the car.
Collection and drop off of your hire car
Cars are collected from and returned back to the airport. Delivery/collection to/from the accommodation may be possible but a charge will apply. For further information please contact the reservations team.
Please note that you will be asked to leave a deposit and an imprint of your credit or debit card on arrival at the airport when you collect your hire car. The deposit usually amounts to a full tank of petrol and the insurance excess. This amount will be held on your card and provided you return your hire car with a full tank of petrol and the car has not been damaged, no charges will be made to your card.
Drivers must produce a valid British driving licence that has been held for at least one year. Drivers holding non-British licences should contact us prior to pick-up. If you have a new photo card licence, you must also produce the paper documents that accompany the photo card. We must be advised of any endorsements at the time of booking so that we can advise the car hire company. All persons driving the vehicle must be in possession of their driving licence at all times for inspection by the local authorities.
On collecting your car you'll receive a rental agreement. Prior to taking the vehicle, we ask you to check the exterior and interior of the vehicle and before signing the agreement, ensure you are happy with the information noted.
Please note we cannot guarantee the exact model of vehicle you will receive. As fleets of vehicles can vary from country to country we can only advise of the vehicle equivalant you will be issued.
Provision of cars
The car hire company can refuse a vehicle to anyonce considered unfit or ineligible to drive. In these circumstances we will not be held responsible for the completion of your travel arrangements, for any refunds, compensation or any other costs you may have to pay. No refunds will be given for rentals rejected if you do not have your licence or if you have not disclosed endorsements.
Mechanical difficulties
In the case of breakdown or mechanical difficulties, you must call the car hire company immediately, using the telephone number which appears on the rental agreement. The local car hire company must give authority for repairs or replacement cars. If you are involved in an accident, the local police and car hire company must be contacted. Keep copies of all relevant documentation you are asked to complete. This may be needed if you wish to make an insurance claim.
Finally, we are brokers for the car hire companies. All rentals are subject to the car hire company’s own terms and conditions and the laws of the country where the rental takes place.
